The local community plays a starring role in the learning programme at Learning Adventures Mangere East, and recently our tamariki got out and about with a trip to the library.

“The children had lots of fun discovering for themselves what a library has to offer,” says centre manager Virginia Eruera.

“They loved story time with the librarian and also had the opportunity to choose some library books to bring back to the centre. As well as building their enthusiasm for reading, this helped the children develop responsibility and independence.”

Learning Adventures Mangere East loves to make the most of what the community has to offer, and local excursions are a highly anticipated part of their curriculum.
