Chinese New Year 1.jpg

This week we have been celebrating Chinese New Year! The children have enjoyed lots of art work from colouring in pictures, cutting out flowers to making lanterns. They have been learning some new songs in Chinese as well as numbers 1-5 and a few words. They have also enjoyed making and eating dumplings. They helped the teacher prepare the dumplings by chopping up the cabbage for the filling and then wrapping and sealing them ready to cook. The children are learning to make connections with the wider world and are developing themselves as global citizens. They are becoming aware of different cultures, ethnicities and backgrounds and positively embracing these similarities and difference.
