Meet our Centre Manager

Kia ora
My name is Kristen, and I’ve been teaching since 2008. I began my journey as a student kaiako at Lollipops Bell Block while studying through the University of Canterbury. Throughout my career, I’ve held teaching, head teacher, and assistant manager roles, and I’ve recently stepped into the role of Centre Manager at Lollipops New Plymouth.
When I’m not busy with mahi, I love being part of the New Plymouth Operatic Society’s productions as a member of the make-up team (you won’t see me on stage in Chicago!).
I’m a big believer in ‘whānau first’. As Centre Manager, I’m here to support whānau as they begin the wonderful journey of learning with their tamariki and to warmly welcome them into the Lollipops whānau. I value open, reciprocal communication and strong whakawhanaungatanga, between kaiako, whānau, and tamariki alike.
