Centre life is full of exciting learning experiences for all age groups. From providing a calm, secure environment for our littlest tamariki to nurturing preschoolers in developing social skills and early literacy, each space is carefully designed to support your child’s growth at every stage.

Our Team

Our dedicated team of kaiako (educators) is passionate about creating a nurturing, supportive environment for both tamariki and their whānau (families). We value open communication and work in partnership with families to ensure every child’s learning journey is celebrated and supported.

Our Rooms

At Little Wonders Oamaru, our spaces are designed to encourage exploration and growth. With natural materials and open-ended play, our environment fosters a sense of belonging, supporting tamariki to develop independence and a love for learning.

0–2 years

Porowhita

Our Porowhita room provides a calm and secure space where tamariki can explore at their own pace. With soft furnishings and natural resources, this room is designed to encourage independent play and discovery in a nurturing, homely environment.

2-3 years

Tapawha

This inviting space is perfect for tamariki to develop social skills and explore their world. With open-ended resources and outdoor areas for active play, children learn to interact with peers, build relationships, and develop self-care skills.

4–5 years

Tapatoru

Tapatoru is all about encouraging independence and confidence. With learning experiences that foster early literacy, numeracy, and creativity, tamariki gain a sense of identity and belonging as they learn through play, exploration, and teamwork.

All ages

Trent Street Wilderness Garden

Our beautiful wilderness garden is a space for tamariki to explore the natural world. With fruit trees, vegetable gardens, and areas for risky play, this outdoor space teaches children about sustainability and the importance of caring for the environment.
