About Little Lights

At Little Lights, we’re all about creating a strong sense of belonging for every child. We focus on meaningful connections with families, a nurturing Christian environment, and playful learning that helps children grow with confidence and joy.

Our centre is set in a peaceful, rural-feeling location with real grass, native bush, and even the occasional visit from alpacas and sheep in nearby paddocks. It’s the perfect blend of nature and community, right here in Rotorua.

Inside, our spaces are designed to suit each stage of early learning. We group children by age so they can explore, create, and grow in ways that suit their needs. There’s something special happening every day—from art and carpentry to storytelling, music, and even coding with Bee-Bots. Family events are a big part of our culture too, bringing everyone together to celebrate, connect, and have fun.

Our Team

We have a caring and experienced team who love what they do. Many of our teachers have been with us for more than five years, creating a consistent, family-like environment. We value strong partnerships with families and always welcome your ideas, feedback, and involvement.

Our Rooms

Our centre is warm and welcoming, filled with spaces that inspire creativity, movement, and exploration. Children can move freely between open indoor areas and our large, natural playgrounds where they can dig, ride bikes, and connect with the world around them.

0 – 3 years

Tui Room

The Tui Room is a calm, nurturing space designed especially for our littlest learners. It has its own art area, a separate dining room, and cosy sleep spaces. The main classroom flows beautifully to the outdoors, with a big sandpit and a mud play area that are always a hit.

3 - 5 years

Kereru Room

The Kereru Room is full of opportunities for imaginative and active play. Children love the loft where they can wave goodbye to their whānau or take a quiet break. Inside, there are loose parts for building and creating, while outside, the huge sandpit, bike track, and real grass invite hours of fun and adventure.
