At Active Explorers Greta Point, we focus on building strong connections with our whānau and the local community. Our curriculum, based on Te Whāriki and Te Whare Tapa Whā, ensures that children grow holistically and develop a love for learning.
Our centre offers spacious, well-equipped indoor and outdoor areas, tailored to suit the needs of each age group. From sensory-rich spaces for infants to a large playground for our older children, we provide a safe and stimulating environment that fosters learning through play.
Each day at Active Explorers is filled with engaging activities, regular excursions, and opportunities for tamariki to explore, create, and connect with the world around them.

Meet our Centre Manager

Kiaora

I'm Amanda, I am a qualified and fully registered ECE kaiako with a Bachelor of Education.

I have been working with tamariki for nearly 11 years and loved every minute of it! I am a very passionate kaiako and love working alongside Whānau and tamariki. Music, dancing singing and messy play is one of my favourites. I have been a teacher for nearly 10 years and have enjoyed all the opportunities I have been given.

We have a dedicated and passionate team who have been working together for over 1.5 years, with some members having been part of the centre for over 10 years. We pride ourselves on creating a warm, welcoming environment where families feel part of the journey. Communication and working together as a team are at the heart of what we do.

Our Spaces

Our spaces are thoughtfully designed to support children’s development at every stage. With expansive indoor and outdoor areas, tamariki have plenty of room to explore, play, and learn in a safe, supportive environment.

0 - 18 months

Pukeko

The Pukeko room is a calm and nurturing space for our youngest tamariki. Designed to support sensory exploration, it’s equipped with everything infants need to discover the world around them, from soft play areas to safe, stimulating toys.

18 months - 3 years

Kiwi

The Kiwi room is perfect for toddlers, with an emphasis on exploration and socialisation. Tamariki enjoy a spacious outdoor area shared with the Pukeko room, where they can develop motor skills, creativity, and begin to build friendships.

2.5 - 5 years

Kea

The Kea room offers an expansive outdoor space, including a playground, sandpit, Marae, and fairy garden. This space encourages tamariki to engage in imaginative play, learn through nature, and collaborate with others in a vibrant and supportive environment.
