Meet our Centre Manager

Kiaora

Kia ora, I’m Angela, the Centre Manager here. I’m a proud mum of three adult daughters and I’ve wanted to be a teacher since I was just four years old. I’ve been teaching full-time for 29 years now, with the last 17 years right here at this centre.

What I love most about my job are the smiles, the laughter, and the storytelling. I have lots of lovely conversations with the children each day. Autumn is my favorite season, with all the bugs, insects and beautiful trees we explore through our nature-based program.

For me, relationships are everything and I look forward to getting to know you and your child.

About Centre Active Explorers Farnborough

At Active Explorers Farnborough, we focus on fostering a sense of belonging, confidence, and independence in every child. We believe in the importance of cultural diversity, offering a safe and welcoming environment where all children can thrive.
Our centre is set in a large, natural playground surrounded by trees, providing ample space for children to explore and learn. We also prioritise sustainability and community, offering outdoor spaces, a community garden, and a manaaki shelf.
Inside, we cater to different age groups with tailored activities. Infants and toddlers engage in sensory-rich play, while older children explore creative arts, physical activities, and cultural learning. Our daily routines encourage curiosity, creativity, and active participation.

Active Explorers Farnborough is designed to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for children. Our natural playgrounds, indoor learning spaces, and community-focused initiatives create a sense of belonging and encourage growth through exploration.

0 - 2.5 years

Whetu Room

Whetu is designed with sensory-rich experiences to engage the youngest learners. With plenty of space for tummy time, crawling, and early exploration, babies and toddlers can enjoy safe, nurturing play while building their motor skills and early social connections.

2.5 - 6 years

Marama Room

The large outdoor playground in Marama features a big sandpit, wilderness garden, and a mud kitchen, giving children the opportunity to explore nature. Inside, children enjoy creative arts, music, and physical activities, fostering independence and self-confidence.
